Welcome to the LEGAL PUBLICATIONS ON-LINE, a service provided by the Ministry for Home Affairs and National Security, Malta.
The service includes BILLS, presented to, and ACTS enacted by, Parliament, as well as LEGAL NOTICES and LOCAL COUNCIL BYE-LAWS made, during a particular year.
The relative BILL, ACT, LEGAL NOTICE or BYE-LAW is published as an individual piece of legislation, as passed by Parliament (in the case of an Act) or as first presented to the House of Representatives (in the case of a Bill) or as made (in the case of a Legal Notice or Bye-law); consequently an amending piece of legislation is not integrated into the legislation it amends but published in its original state. The service is intended to complement the LAWS OF MALTA On-Line (where amending laws are inserted in the text which is amended), which is another service provided by the Ministry.
Indexes in chronological order are available in both Maltese and English languages for each of the Bills, Acts, Legal Notices and Local Council Bye-laws published in a given year. The search facility is also given so that one may search for particular keywords by clicking on the search button. By clicking on the search facility and entering the relative search parameters, a list of all legislation where the search parameters are found will be displayed. Clicking on each listed item will take the user to the document itself. The document is in a zipped format; to unzip please refer to the Frequently asked questions.
